Year 1 have been creating their own board game in writing. They wrote instructions and created pictures for their board game. We then had a board party and played with our friends.

Weekly Visit To Housteads

We have enjoyed making shadow puppets at Housteads this morning and performed a puppet show for the residents!

☀ Summer Fair ☀

Good morning families,

On Wednesday 10th July we will hold our Summer fair on the school field 2.30-5pm, and we really hope that all our families and wider community are able to come along an enjoy the games, stalls, inflatables, food and entertainment.

It will be a great afternoon!

FS2 have been learning about Africa, as part of this we learnt about some traditional African dishes. This week we have made Moroccan carrot salad. The children did everything themselves from chopping to mixing. Most importanlty they all remebered to wash their hands before handling food.  

Sculpture Making

Y4 have had a wonderful time creating their Matisse-inspired sculptures. They have drawn inspiration from his collages, created their own shapes and used paper mache to create the shape of the sculpture. What a fabulous time!

Dear families

On Tuesday 2nd July our nursery children will have a teddy bear picnic, please can your child bring their favourite teddy and a blanket into school.

Dear Parent / Carer

As part of our topic on ‘Under the Sea’, all three FS2 classes will be going on an educational visit to ‘The Deep’ in Hull. We hope to make a memorable day for the children and further their understanding on the fascinating sea creatures. The Deep is a large aquarium home to over 3,500 species of fish including sharks and penguins!

The visits will take place on:

Wednesday 3rd July for FS2 Topaz and half of FS2 Opal

Thursday 4th July for FS2 Garnet and the other half of FS2 Opal.

So that we get a full day at The Deep we aim to leave school at 8.30am, so please drop your child to school at 8:15am! We expect to return to school by 4.00pm.

You may collect your child from the coach on Greenland Road. If there are any delays, the school’s office team will contact you by 3.30pm. To ensure you can receive any updates on delays, please check your contact details are correct at the school’s main office.

We are asking for £15.00 per child which covers the cost of the coach and entry to The Deep. Please pay via your Arbor app. You may pay in instalments until paid for and if you have any concerns or questions about payment, please speak to your child’s class teacher or school office.

For this trip children must wear full school uniform including sensible shoes. All children will be provided with a free packed lunch by school. You may wish to provide your child with an additional bottle of water with their name written on it, but they won’t need any other food, drinks or spending money. If you would like to provide your child with their own packed lunch, then please let the admin team know by Friday 28th June.

In the event of wet weather, we are asking that all children bring a warm, weather-proof coat with their name written in it.

A massive thank you to the FS2 parents who attended the lunch tasting last week. It was lovely to get some honest feedback about our school lunches. We can use these comments to improve our offer for the children. As always, it was a pleasure to have you in school and we hope to have more parents in soon!
