Summer Reading Challenge

Summer Reading Challenge

We're happy to announce this year's book collection for the Summer Reading Challenge 2017, Animal Agents. The book collection comprises 70 must-have reads for children aged 4-11, with something to suit every young reader. Many of the books in the collection are new titles which will be published this summer, and will be displayed in libraries during the Challenge.

There are two lists - one for younger children and one for older children - representing the best in contemporary children's fiction, fact and puzzle books, poetry, picture books and graphic novels.

There

will be an assembly on Monday 3rd July at 11.30am for year 1, 2 and 3.

A librarian will come in from Darnall library to talk to the children about the summer reading challenge. This is a national challenge to encourage children to read 6 books over the summer. Please encourage children to read over the summer and if they complete the challenge they will go into a draw for a prize. The librarian will come into school and explain to the children how the challenge works.
